Project Engineer

Function Description

As Project Engineer you contribute to hydrodynamic challenges in various marine-related projects, like conventional oil and gas, but also offshore wind, floating solar, seaweed farming, etc. You are responsible for the technical execution of the marine projects by o.a. performing hydrodynamic analysis, providing out-of-the-box and innovative solutions, preparing method statements and making sure that these procedures are followed during the operation. You will work in a team, potentially at the Client’s location, where you support the Project Manager and Operations Manager. The Project Engineer has the authority to give advice, both on his/her own initiative and upon request, related to engineering analyses, calculations, methods, and procedures.

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Perform engineering, technical project preparation and execution support for marine offshore;
  • Develop offshore execution methods for offshore projects, the nomination of required equipment, concept and detail design of lifting arrangements, etc related to:
    • Vessel Workability;
    • Heavy lift operations;
    • Cable Installation;
    • Design of offshore structures;
    • Transport and installation of offshore structures;
  • Assess client’s requirements, understand commercial drivers in a project and comment on engineering queries;
  • Structure unstructured scopes of work and identify technical opportunities taking into account the overall context;
  • Present the analyses result or procedures in project reports for the clients;
  • Prepare, review and organize a review of internal and external deliverables (drawings, report, Project Execution Plans and procedures when required);
  • Interface with experts, the various departments and clients;
  • Inform the Project / Operations Manager about the progress of the work regularly;
  • Knowledge of, affinity with innovations in marine energy market;
  • Assist at client office location during the design/engineering phase of a project, if and when required;
  • Assist offshore during the execution phase of a project, if and when required.

Your Profile
Education:

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in Offshore, Mechanical, Civil or Maritime Engineering.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an engineer in the Offshore Industry.
  • Experience with several of the below:
    • Finite Element Modeling (FEM), preferably ANSYS;
    • Hydrodynamic software, preferable Orcaflex;
    • CAD software;
    • MS Office.
